Mine, Yours, Ours

I’m having a lot of difficulty with these words lately. You see, when I had roommates I’d call the place I lived “mine” as in “My house”**. And when I would see SB at his home, it was “yours”, “Your house”.

Now I have moved into “your house” and would like to call it “my house” but SB thinks I should call it “our house”, which is reasonable, I guess. He is holding me to proper language use in a way that my roommates never have.

My roommates never appreciated my ability to label everything in the house as “mine”. But eventually I wore them down and they would just laugh at my inability to use words properly.

I think and hope that when we move into a new apartment (in about a week), one we have chosen together, the word “ours” will just roll off my tongue.

Invitation

I invited people I love to come, read my blog and then I vanished, not posting a thing. That’s no way to entice readers, especially those that can just call me up and find out how I’m doing. But I have much to blog about and shall begin today.

Summer Photos

To further emphasize the high points of my true summer vacation, I’ve posted some of my recent photos.

There’s a set dedicated to sailing. It has been a full season of sailing for SB and I. We’ve been teaching one night a week and racing between 1 and 3 days/week. The sailing season is starting to wrap up, and the fall winds are beginning to blow. We usually get the best winds in late August and into September.

Another set of photos is dedicated to recent weddings. July was our month of weddings. The highlight of which was the cheesecakes we made for Eric and Rebekah. SB, known for his wonderful cheesecakes, was asked to make six for a pre-wedding party. He asked me to be his sous chef and we made six cakes in one night.

And finally, there’s the summer outings and activities photos, like water skiing with Pat and traveling to Devil’s Lake with my family. I should have some more photos to share soon.
