Six posts in one

I’ve caught up with my book reviews. Instead of milking these posts over the next few days, I’m giving you all my reviews at once. Most recommended of the books below are Shielding Her Modesty and Bel Canto.

  1. Yes Bel Canto. Amazing. I liken it to the Seinfeld episode where they’re in the chinese restaurant. How can they have a book where they’re in 1 place the entire time being held hostage? You know a great writer when this happens. I loved all the characters, they all had meaning and depth.

Outlander — ok ok, is this my fault? I’ve read 4 of the 6 and am struggling with the 5th. I LOVED #1. I can still pick it up and read it anytime. #2 was less good but #3 put it back together. If you didn’t want to read all 6, I feel like the 1st 3 are a trilogy within the series. But I liked #2 better than you did. 4-5 are less good but I hear that #6 is really good so I’m sticking with it. But I’m glad you liked #1, it really is good (in my opinion).

  2. Ofcourse it is your fault! But I totally loved the first one and it got me through my third move in one year. Do you think I should stick it out for #3 and try to rekindle my love? I do wonder if reading the second book so close to the first burned me out. Maybe I should have taken a breather in between.

  3. In my honest opinion, the 3rd one brings it full circle since the ending of the 2nd book is well … you know … But if you read it and you hate it then you can’t blame me. I absolve myself of any responsibility!!
