I wanted to comment about gardening, but the posting was "closed." Ahem. In that southern climate, gardening is so much longer that I can understand breaking down and hiring someone so you can focus on other things. I got our rain barrel for $70 which I admit was $$, but I bought it through the Conservation Foundation (http://www.theconservationfoundation.org/) so I felt it was a good cause. It had a lid already and a spigot. But I agree that any old barrel (or garbage) will do the trick, plus it's a great thing to have. I thought people in my neighborhood would think we were strange for having one, but everyone is like, "That's cool!" Our bird bath, we found at my mom's new house in LG. It was under the deck.
